An example of building teacher leaders to strategically increase capacity

This program overview and blog post from Getting Smart illustrates how Fulton County built out their capacity in a strategic manner around blended learning by building a Vanguard Team, comprised of educators who have mastered the art of technology use with classroom instruction.

Vanguard coaches work with their peer teachers, METIs, technology specialists and the school administration to deliver the best curriculum practices which include transformative technology. At a minimum, Vanguard members will be responsible for coaching peers and completing observations using the Tech Integration Matrix. All Vanguard members should also be able to transform practices, utilize technology skills, and apply learnings.
