Guide: Choosing Digital Content and Curriculum
1 min read

A whitepaper from the Center for Digital Education, Consortium for School Networking (CoSN) and International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE)

This guide provides advice on how districts can move from selecting print content to identifying and obtaining high-quality digital content appropriately aligned with state-adopted standards.

This guide, produced in 2016 by the Center for Digital Education in collaboration with COSN and ISTE, offers advice for leaders and educators on how to evaluate and select digital content and curriculum.

Evaluating digital materials can be a more challenging process than for doing so with printed ones, which are often easier to access in complete format as well as interchangeable within the existing implementation context. This paper provides background information, effective practices and resources for districts and is divided into three sections:

  1. planning for success
  2. understanding digital content and curriculum options
  3. implementing with fidelity

The appendix features case studies of districts already implementing digital content or setting up the infrastructure to support the process, as well.
