Our Response to the Uvalde, TX Shooting

At TLA, we work to ensure every child gets the education they need to reach their full and unique potential. This vision is simply impossible in a world where our students and educators cannot learn and work together without the looming threat and reality of gun violence.

All children deserve a high-quality education in a welcoming and nurturing environment – we emphasize that nothing else matters if we don’t start here. We mourn the loss of the students and teachers whose lives were taken on May 24, and our hearts are with the children, families, educators, and community of Uvalde, Texas.

Nothing will change unless we come together to put our children first. We have a responsibility to them – and we must act on it. Join us and get involved in efforts to make schools safe:
