Liberty Public Schools is a public school district located in Liberty, MO, just outside of Kansas City. It currently serves roughly 12,500 students in grades PK-12. The district consists of 11 elementary schools, 6 middle schools, and 2 high schools. In 2015, Liberty was approached by the #GoOpen initiative of the U.S. Department of Education and asked to consider using OER for middle school social studies and high school science in lieu of the traditional textbook materials.
