Inspired by the book The Power of Moments, Dallas ISD identified one driving question that served as the focal point for piloting new and innovative teaching and learning practices across their cohort of personalized learning schools.
To support the shift to remote learning, the Personalized Learning Department at Dallas ISD created the Distance Learning Progression, which identifies the necessary system, leader, teacher, and student actions that are needed when operating in a full-time distance learning instructional model.
To support students and teachers in remote learning, the Personalized Learning Department at Dallas ISD provided teachers with targeted support on how to create self-paced lessons in Google Slides to engage students virtually.
Led by the Personalized Learning Department, Dallas ISD’s Personalized Learning Camping Trips guided teachers to choose from four domain indicators from the Personalized Learning Coaching and Development Rubric to narrow and determine goals for their professional learning.

Austin ISD created and maintained a community-wide partnership to increase “arts-rich” opportunities for all students in the pandemic.
To improve internet access during remote learning, Austin ISD partnered with the local housing authority to identify locations where students were under connected. Buses equipped with hotspots were then parked in strategic locations across the city to improve connectivity.
